Gírias em inglês australiano
Muita gente já me perguntou sobre o sotaque australiano, caso esteja indo para Austrália seja para estudar inglês ou para turismo, não precisa se desesperar! Na Austrália é um país monárquico, tendo a rainha Elizabeth II da Inglaterrra como monarca, nas cidades como Melbourne, Sydney o sotaque do australiano é semelhante ao inglês britânico. Já nas cidades menores do norte ou do centro ( região do deserto) o inglês australiano é bem peculiar. Assim como no Brasil, quanto mais interior for a cidade mais forte parece ser o sotaque! Confesso que a primeira vez que resolvi viajar pelo país, depois de já estar morando em Sydney por um ano, a primeira vez que ouvi o verdadeiro sotaque australiano fiquei na dúvida se a pessoa com quem eu estava falando estava realmente falando em inglês! Rss
E claro, assim como em qualquer país ou região possui suas próprias gírias no idioma oficial, e quanto mais jovem a pessoa maior será a tendência da pessoa usar gírias na conversa! Os australianos de um modo geral, adoram encurtar ao máximo as palavras acrescentando um “o” ou “ie” ao final e inventam as mais divertidas gírias para todas as situações. Para ajudar a sua visita a este maravilhoso país ou simplesmente matar sua curiosidade eu separei aqui algumas gírias usadas lá na terra “downunder”;)

Lot of people have asked me about the australian accent, so I decided to write this post about it! If you are going to Australia to study, work or just for tourism, there is no need to get desperate! First of all, Australia is a monarchy country and the present monarchy is Elizabeth II, that means australia influenced culturally by britain and cities such as Sydney and Melbourne the australian accent is SIMILAR to the british accent. I meant SIMILAR like the closest to compare would be the british not american that is. I say this cause every country has their own language even like english speaking languages have their own takes on particular words and phrases. However in small towns up north or in the outback the australian accent is quite peculiar. Sometimes it is hard for people who does not have english as first language (like me, as you can probably tell.. LOL) understand a single word what they are saying and you even start wondering if they are really speaking in english! hehe that’s when I realized how many there are! Technically it is the same language but there are so many differences you could be forgiven to think it is another language.
Below I wrote a small list of australian slangs that I hope they can help you out while you are traveling around this amazing “Land Down Under”! 😉
